Hyderabad: Osmania hospital staff set to demand money to issue physically handicapped certificate in one day otherwise it would take 30-40 days.
Nagesh from Afzalgunj applied for physically handicapped certificate in Osmania Hospital. The staff said him to come after 10 days for medical tests. He returned to hospital but doctors are not available to treat the patients at hospital. They didn’t even enroll some of the patient names in systems. This problem is not limited to Osmania but also Gandhi, Nilofer, ENT hospitals.
‘To issue handicapped certificate, hospitals need to have a login ID’, Joint collector M Prashanti wrote a letter to doctors. In addition, the doctor who issues certificate must integrate user ID to SERP. As a result, certificate can be provided easily, said Joint collector.
Osmania hospital don’t care
Some doctors responded to the collector letter but Osmania decided not to give user IDs. This made the patients to go hospital many times for certificate.
Aadhar card, two photos and previous health check up reports are enough to apply for physical handicap certificate in hospital. Once after submitting the documents, the staff needs to enroll candidate name and consulting date to applicant for further check up.
Doctors will check the patient and confirm whether he/she is eligible to get certificate. Deaf people should have 51 % and others should have at least 40 % for pension. After the eligibility criteria, part-B form should be filled and signed by three doctors.
All the forms from here will be taken to collector office for further approval. This process expected to take 30 to 40 days for completion. But if we money, whole process will be finished in a day. They set to charge Rs. 10,000 for each certificate. After certificate issue, patients need to apply in their own mandal. Then, Tahasildar expected to confirm the details with collector for handicap pension.
